Intensive Personal Coaching from Siddharth Chauhan available in Offline mode over a period of 2 weeks.
Over regular hands on - intensive training sessions, the students can brainstorm, write, discuss, plan and shoot their films along with Siddharth and hone their craft. In cases where it is not feasible to complete the films during the 2 week workshop, Siddharth will remain accessible - even after the workshop – until your projects are realised.
You will also be educated about the various ways in which you can fund & produce your short films in India. The applicants must be prepared to live and breathe filmmaking for the length of their stay in Shimla.

GOAL:
'Make your Film' with Siddharth Chauhan is designed to serve the needs of a variety of students, yet through hands-on classes and exercises, all students can gain an understanding of the requirements and rigors of filmmaking, as well as experience the exhilaration of seeing a completed project. For beginners, this is an opportunity to see if filmmaking is the appropriate craft for them. For others who have some experience in filmmaking, this may be an opportunity to polish their scripts, learn more about their craft and refine their expressions. The limitations of time & individuality should be apparent, given that many people spend years studying film and perfecting their craft.
ELIGIBILITY / REQUIREMENTS:

Your age is in between 15 - 40 years old at the time of application

You will bring your own camera & equipment

You will get a hard drive with enough free space to store your footage

You have a laptop with an Editing Software installed and you know how to use it

You are willing to take care of your own travel, food & lodging during the 2 weeks

Please note: This is not a course where you will be taught how to operate a camera, how to use an editing software etc - basic knowledge of these is a must.
Deadline for Spring Applications: May 16th, 2023 (10 p.m.)

Application Fee (Non-refundable): 250 INR (Only selected applicants will be asked to pay tuition fee)
Selection Process: 10 students will be shortlisted and asked to appear for an online / telephonic interview. In order to pay full attention to the films being made, a maximum of 3 Filmmakers will be selected for this intensive coaching.

The basics of storytelling, characters, plot and climax in a film. How to select a story, how to turn a story into a script. Essentials of screenplay writing. Tips & Tricks.
How is the camera participating in telling a story? Designing a unique camera language for your film, role of storyboarding, lighting and colours in film.
Can direction ever be taught or it must be practiced? How to direct actors and plan a shot? What is blocking? We will make you direct so that you learn this art.
How do we prepare for a shoot? What kind of a budget will you need? Lets make a checklist and shoot so that you know what it feels like to be on a shoot!
Don't be afraid of this phase. Each film does not need to follow a template and spend thousands and lakhs of money. Let your film dictate it's post production needs. We will tell you how to plan & execute this.
What to do when your film is ready? What is the best platform for your film? Can you earn money through your films? Are film festivals important? We will tell you what it takes to get there.
