BIOGRAPHY

Born and brought up in the hills of Shimla, through lack of opportunity, Siddharth decided to grab the bull by the horns and make his own breaks.

Driven by the need to create value, he takes pride in shooting his films in Himachal & believes in telling stories which are local and yet have universal themes. He founded Secret Corridor Pictures with this aim and has made some critically acclaimed films under this banner. While deeply rooted in Himachal, Siddharth also travels across the country to offer filmmaking services and present his films.

His short film 'Pashi' was the only Indian film to premiere at the Oscar Qualifying Flicker's Rhode Island International Film Festival in 2018. Pashi won 6 International Awards including Best Director, Best Film, Audience Choice, Best Actor and Best Cinematography and also received a lot of critical acclaim. Indie Film Magazine called it 'India's Finest Short Film of 2018'. His next film titled 'The Flying Trunk' also received excellent reviews. UK Film Review called it a 'masterpiece...'.

After successfully completing these projects, Siddharth collaborated with a Hollywood based writer for his next film titled 'Catch the Light' which was commissioned by the Kashish Arts Foundation, Mumbai. Siddharth then started working on his 1st feature film titled 'Amar Colony'.

Produced by Indie Film Collective, 'Amar Colony' had its World Premiere in Nov 2022 at Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival (POFF) which is an A-List BAFTA & OSCAR Qualifying Festival, one of the biggest in Northern Europe. The film won the Jury Prize for it's 'Originality of vision' at Tallinn Black Nights & Siddharth also won the Best Indian Debut Director Award at it's Indian Premiere at International Film Festival of Kerala (IFFK) in the same year. The Federation of Film Critics nominated Amar Colony for the FIPRESCI India Grand-Prix 2022 Award.

Siddharth holds a degree in MBA (Masters in Business Administration) and has also received the Hindustan Times Youth Achiever - 'Top 30 under 30 Award' for his outstanding accomplishment in this field. His Ted Talk ‘Discovering the Storyteller within you...’ has been winning hearts of many artists and aspiring filmmakers. Siddharth is currently developing  his 2nd Feature Film.

"I make films to give an expression to my vivid imagination. For me, filmmaking is akin to sculpting - an art where I mould a story, emotions, techniques and shots

into a cohesive, expressive whole - rather than simply

a process of recording events."
